LA FLECHA

Mexico meets The Mesa.
We gather on the mesa bathed in the light of the full corn moon of September as brothers and sisters in celebration of the gifts of Life. We gather to nourish our beings. To dance and sing our gratitude. To inaugurate a dawning era of expression, sharing, and guardianship. To harmonize and to heal.

Leahy + Chef Gera, in collaboration with Zak Ryan Schlegel, offer a weekend gathering of connection, communion and celebration utilizing the universal languages of sacred food and ceremony. We invite you to join us in the building of a collective tlamanalli (altar as offering), a temazcal (Mexican sweat lodge) ceremony, a robust land-to-table family feast combining the tastes of Taos with flavors from the Oaxaca valley,  gathering and sharing around the sacred fire, a night of camping under the stars, and a pilgrimage on foot to conclude our weekend together at a local sacred water source. The four elements (and the four directions), sacred in New and Old Mexico alike, will guide us through a journey of remembering and honoring our kinship with each other and with the Earth.

Leahy and Gerardo are walking the path of the heart and they bring us medicine of Mother Earth (food and temazcal) from Oaxaca, Mexico, where they run Aguamiel, a countryside land-to-table restaurant and healing events project. Their work is focused on sharing ways to connect with the energy of the four elements to access self-healing and to intend each of our acts towards the divine balance and harmony of all that is alive, starting with what we put in our body.

Zak extends this invitation to the community in a collective asking of the land for permission as he begins his journey in listening to, being guided by and working in harmony with it - imagining a community release of La Flecha in honor of those who came before us, our temporary stay, and those who will follow. The gathering will mark his birthday, a land warming, an intention setting, and an ignition of shared and familial mission-making for the space to dream, create, give back, collaborate, integrate, and celebrate life.

Come join us in a ceremony of connection and intention in motion, for the healing of all of our relations! May we journey together to the magic of the mesa and return home with the medicine of transformation and renewal.
